Thank you for your interest in our Subsidized Sidewalk Program. Richmond Heights will support senior property owners as well as residents with low-income status or disabilities to pay for sidewalk repairs. Richmond Heights will handle the assessment, costs and repair work if eligibility is met. This is not an ‘emergency’ program and we are limited by dollars. The program addresses safety issues only. We will serve you in a timely manner and ask for your patience throughout the process.
Eligibility:
- Resident Must be 65 years old or older (or disabled) FOR FULL SUBSIDY
or
- Resident Sidewalk is damaged by tree lawn tree (must be confirmed by RHBD) FOR FULL SUBSIDY
or
- Resident Must be below 80% of the median area income (see below) FOR PARTIAL SUBSIDY
Requirements:
- Owner Occupied Resident
- Owned home in Richmond Heights for at least one year
- Must be current on property taxes
- Sidewalk must be assessed by RHBD (Richmond Heights Building Department) for compliance with program specifications for sidewalk deficiencies
The median household income in Richmond Heights, is approximately $56,734. (source: Census Reporter) Households earning less than $45,387 are considered to have incomes below 80% of the median HHI.
